Richmond Christian Foundation (RCF), like community foundations, provides charitable financial services allowing you to:

  • Maximize tax deductions for your charitable gifts.
  • Pay less in federal taxes.
  • Send more money to your favorite causes.
  • Use a variety of assets - stocks, business interests, real estate, retirement accounts, and cash - to accomplish your giving goals.
  • Receive a tax deduction immediately for 100% of every deposit into your account; yet distribute the funds as charitable gifts over time- even in future years.
  • Make multiple gifts locally, nationally, and internationally to your favorite causes, while receiving just one charitable receipt for your tax preparation.

Community Foundations are wonderful partners for estate planning because of the potential income and tax benefits that can be realized.

Typically, all or part of the donor’s estate is left as a bequest to various funds created through RCF. These funds then serve as vehicles for accomplishing the donor's charitable goals. These may include:

  • Leave to charities a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or what remains after other bequests have been satisfied.
  • You may arrange for your heirs to receive lifetime income from your estate, with the remainder going to RCF or other charitable organizations.
  • Some of the most tax-efficient asset types to give to charities are tax-deferred retirement accounts, since personal heirs would be taxed on the tax-deferred value of the account
  • Bequests to your charitable giving funds at RCF earn a full charitable deduction for estate taxes.
  • You can change the charitable beneficiaries of your fund at any time, without having to update your estate documents.

Through RCF's Community Trust Fund or the RCF General Fund, your charitable gifts can have a greater impact on the Richmond area as they are pooled with donations from others who care about our community.

From these Funds, grants are continuously made to ministries in Greater Richmond.

These grants are for the current and emerging needs faced by those on the front lines of evangelism, discipleship, and mercy.
